Default Putting The R On A Diet...

What are some things on our R's we can swap out to lose some un-needed weight?

Axle? Swing Arms? Steering Stems? Wheel's & Tires (what are some light-weight ones BTW?).

Your only going to lose weight on those items if you buy drag of TT ones specially made for lower weight. Every stem, axle, and swingarm I have had has been heavier when buying MX stuff. I mean the stock swinger on the 88-89 are alum, your not going to get lighter than that.

ya...hmm...how much does a shee wiegh...and how mcuh does an R weigh?

but you could get some douglas aluminum rims, or the all carbon non beadlock hipers, holeshot mxr4 tires, aftermarket pipe of your choice, LRD attitude frame if you want to go allout, take out the lighting system, take off the toolbox, maby an aluminum airbox

for the chassis components tho, dont go aluminum or anything lightweight if you plan on racing, go all out chromally, its very strong and almost as light as aluminum

you could go with a titanium frame, or an aluminum alloy one. get light weight shocks, lightweight rims, aftermarket exhaust, go on a diet yourself, aluminum rad (if it aint already).

How much do YOU weigh?

I was pushing 240 lbs, and my banshee was struggling a bit last season. Slimmed down to about 215, so we'll see how it goes this year.
