Default Running Temp

What is normal running temp for a 310 on pump gas and when should I be worried?

I really wouldnt worry too much about it. I have a little trick that I think I read recently that someone else here does, I take the overflow tube from the rad and point it so if it started to boil over the coolant will hit the pipe and steam off so you can see it before it totally overheats. But I doubt you will have a problem

So I guess I just wasted my money buying a temp gauge? Oh well, at least it will look cool.

Some people say they get worried over 200 some run over 200 all the time. Most of what Ive read people want to be around 170-190 but some are comfortable running over 200. I would start getting worried if I started seeing 220 but then again Ive seen peple say they run their bikes at that temp all the time with no problems.

I have not had an overheating problem yet. I just was installing the ESR cylinder and they strongly recommend a water temp gauge, so I bought one and figured it wouldn't do much good if I didn't know what I was looking for.

Thanks for the input.

A new radiator is a little out of my price range.

i would just buy a temp gauge. but i would not get the one from esr; as they are mechanical which is not bad but it also limits you to having the gauge right on the hose. i use one from CRJ perfomance that is electric and comes with a digital display mounted on the handlebars. it just has a probe that goes inline of the rad hose. it runs on a watch battery and last for about a year. not that expensive either

ya but that means that you just have more shit crowding your bars, and more unessisary wires, its not that hard to lean over to the side and look at what the temp is
