| no alot of people still make them because the crf motor makes more power and the 400ex handles better and is lighter, the only reason it sucks so much normally is because the 400 motor weighs like 100lbs, just look at the service honda 250r, its 310lbs stock, and they used a 400ex chasis when they could have just as easily used a 450r chassis |

A 400EX is about 35lbs heavier than a 450R, and I doubt that the EX handles better, that just don't make any sense, the EX is a mid-level sport quad and the 450R is a race-bred machine. I think the main reason people use it for a hybrid project is, the EX is cheaper, and there are more of them out there.

| Agreed, they guy I ride with most of the time has a 660 Raptor. Going from mine to his just feels wierd. You sit so much higher and the positioning of the handlebars is alot different, it takes a while to get used to it. On the other hand, going from the Raptor to the R is easy.
