Default Top end help? Need some good info!

So I just re bored the top end on my 86 ... I need to know if its normal on 250r's if the piston does not come completely flush with the top of the jug at TDC. The outfit that rebored and mocked up the cylinder have not done a lot of honda 's and can't tell me for sure if it's right but said it looks wrong to them. They checked the port timing and said it was dead on @ 120- 122 transfer and 180-182 exhaust. They did a squish test and came up with .100 this using the stock gasket. I read on different threads here of guys using only one piece of the gasket . They took a measurement and said that would drop my squish .050 , which is great but who ever worked on the bike before me shaved the head I and I'm worried about to much compression. This is my first R so I 'm kinda clueless here. For what its worth I would rather have a very reliable bike than one I have to tear down every other ride. I will try to include some pic's . I believe that the top end has been sent to Trinity at one point for porting, If that matters at all.

its normal ot have too much clearance in stoc kform this is mostly due ot a thick ass head gasket also the honda (of coarse this varies ) has around 1millimeter negative -deck height ,so thats normal ,your head has in fact been machined down by someone .ideal clearance would be around .045-.050squish ...not .100 ,easy way to improve that is to ru n a .018 thick 1989 cr25or head gasket and/or another way is to machine dow nthe jug deck on a mill to lower the head toward the pistown crown at tdc .most loca l atv or dirtbike shops will probaly not understand this though , id find someone else to work on it preferably a real engine builder who is familiar with these concerns, judging by the head pic it looks as though you will have very high compression if you try to correct the squish toward the target number but if you dont your clearance will be way off and the burn rate and torque numbers could suffer ,id find a happy medium (million ways to ski na cat) or get a new uncut head wit h a thinner gasket because detonation may be a concern with a low voulme dome like that ,atleast on pump gas ,good luck

Thanks FLOTEK, I was already considering a new head. The machine shop had suggested milling the jug but didn't want to change anything till I figured out what my compression is. With a new stock head and runnin a thin gasket, is there much advantage to milling the head? I'm trying to stay with around 170-175 compression and get as much performance as possible. What is the best way to achieve this ?
