Default 250r piston question

Hey guys,
Would not drilling the holes in the exhaust side cause the engine to fail. Do you guys all do this, or is it even necessary. Thanks

Blake

It doesn't cause the engine to fail. Why do you suspect it would?

the holes are there for lubricating and cooling the bridge ,if they are not present the rate of thermal expansion of the bridge will be different than the bore coeffecient this will cause it swell out in relationship to the bore reducing clearance and may (and will) cause a seizure ,theres an important reason for it i have personaly see n expensive seizures fro m not having them drilled out i n the piston on late model quadracers before
