Whats the most a piston kit and bore should cost.
Like if you were to drop your cylinder off at a shop, and say
"Order my piston kit and do a bore job"
Whats the most it should cost for a stock 86 jug?
Not including gaskets

If it's not plated then less than $200. My zilla is getting a fresh bore and piston and is running me $207. It's $20 more for the piston because of the 1mm overbore. It's running me $55 for the new bore.

Your always better off haveing them mic the cylinder and find out what size bore they are going to, then purchase your piston and bring it to them, always cheaper that way.

heres the way I do my rebuilds. I take my jug to the shop and have em measure the bore that it has currently, then come home and decide what piston size I need to use in order to clean up any wore spots in the cylinder, then order my own piston kit and gaskets (usually wiseco, and I order the parts myself cause I can get em cheaper than havin the shop order em for me). then when I get my parts, I take my jug and piston only back to em and say "make it fit" lol. they charge about 40 bucks for a bore and hone job. then I take it back home and about a hour later its break-in time

This is the exact way i do it, only i usually ask them what size they recomend to bore it to in order to clean up the bore correctly and remove all or any damage.

yea lol I also do that aswell, forgot to put that in. we've went a couple times and didnt ask em what size they would recomend and just went ahead and ordered, based off of what size piston was currently being used...........and when the piston got here for some strange reason it would fit in the cylinder bore, but it was a size bigger than the used piston lol
