Default Anxious to Build an R

I am currently working on selling my truck and then I look to start a TRX250R. I was wondering what kind of personal do's and don'ts you guys have experienced with 250s. I have been going back and forth on whether to build from the frame up or to buy one and redo it. I think buying it would be nice because everything would be present. So my other consideration now is to combine the two ideas and buy a frame and a quad and build both. Making one really nice and the other just basically just okay and probably sell one of the them. I want to keep away from having to run race fuel. I primarily ride trails/gravel pitts and an occasional trip to the track. I'm not much of one for the dunes seeings at how I live on the east coast. I am really picky about my belongings so mediocre never satisfies me. Hopefully you guys will get to see a really nice R on pics through here or possibly as soon as Quadfest in PA. Let me know what kind of things could give me a heads up. I am looking for any/all recommendations.

Keep the truck and sell your raptor, then build a nice 250r.

Haha, I would but selling a quad I bought new would be bending over and taking it. Plus I need something to ride when the R is getting rebuilt AND.....it would be something my g/f can ride instead of bugging me trying to get me to double ride.

I don't need a crew cab diesel to haul my quad and go to school......

you think you dont but you do. i thought the same thing when i moved out to go to College but now im glad i didnt seel her. dont know what i would be doing with ot my f-350. my little yota couldnt take me to glamis and back without me having to worry about it. but what kind of truck is it?just keep the truck and save money. thats a better idea. you can get a nice R for about 2800 in cali so i bet cheaper out in the east coast.

When you build p an R use an aftermarket frame. and atleast a 310 motor, preferably a 330, youll never wanna ride the raptor aagain after you get a nicly set up 330 or 310 R

my advice would be to just look for a running R in good, rideable condition for a decent price, like between 2400$ to 3200$, and then just ride it for awhile and get used to it, then start to build it how you want from there.

The truck is a Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax Diesel Crew Cab. I just don't see having a 25000 dollar truck to run the miles up on and pay 81 dollars to fill every week. You know how many times me and 5 other people need to ride somewhere? maybe a half a dozen times a year.....

I figured my total bill last year with this truck at approximately $10,000 after payments and fuel and when the injectors shit the bed and I had to have it towed and stay in Pittsburgh for a weekend. Luckily the dealership covered the 5,000 injector bill under warranty. Anyway, being full time at school and paying out that much keeps me practically broke at all times. I'm sick of not being able to do shit, spring break is next week and guess who will be begging for overtime at work........not standing at a beach bar having a good time haha. Luckily I think I have a buyer lined up for Saturday. Too late for this year's break but next year and this summer will be fun.

Anyway, any other recommendations? Anyone have a rolling or close to rolling chassis they are looking to sell?
