Default Rear Shock Upgrade Questions

How much would an aftermarket rear shock valved for my weight help in trail riding? Does anyone know what poundage the stock shock is valved for? Is there going to be a big difference for a 200lb rider?

Also, has anyone used a white brothers rear shock? I found a guy that says he has 1 just bee rebuilt for a 200lb rider.

The stock shock is actually a pretty decent shock, especially if it's freshly rebuilt and revalved for your weight. I know a lot of people have just had their rear shocks revalved and resprung for their weight and have been very happy.

As far as what the shock is valved for stock, I'd probably say ~180lbs. If you have a service manual handy, I'm sure that it would tell you.

If you're only doing trail riding, I'd say that a stock shock would be fine, especially if you had it revalved/resprung by a reputable builder, e.g. PEP, TCS, etc.

the stock shock is made for a 155 pound rider... i would get it revalved and a differ spring on it... imo

Why make power half the time with a 4-stroke when you could make it all the time with a 2-stroke?
