Default Buying a used carb? Any advice?

I am looking to buy a buy a 38mm airstryker carb. I was thinking to buy a used one in order to save a little money. has anyone had any experiance with used carbs? any potential pitfalls to watch out for? also one carb i saw is off a LT250. will there be any differences in that setup to the TRX? also it has the thumb throttle and cable with it. will this bolt on to the TRX or will i need to use my old twist throttle?

Plan on buying a rebuild kit, even it it has just been rebuilt. Factor price of carb and price of kit, vs. price of new and make your decision. I have bought used carbs that were in "ready to ride" condition only to find varnish and bad o-rings in them. I have also bought carbs that were "ready to ride" from reputable sellers and I didn't even have to adust jetting....they were dead on!

Try and find out who you are buying from and make your decision from there...

A used 38mm airstyker is going to run you around $120. You can get one new from rjatv for just a little more. I don't want to quote his price because I may get it wrong- look him up rjatv.com . I bought a used one and wished I would have paid a little more and bought his.
