Default Just Pulled My Cylinder Off... How Does It Look?

Just pulled my cylinder off to have it purted and do the top end. can anyone give me any insight on how my engine was running from these pictures? Also Based on the markings on the piston, can anyone tel me what size bore it has and can i still bore it 1 size over? You can see it in the pics, but it has ART and 695 cast into the inside of the piston. Also what is the biggest i can bore the stock cylinder?

I dont see any problems or anything with your piston or jug. i'd say just take the cylinder to a machine shop or where ever and have em measure the current bore and asscess the wear on the cylinder and they can help you decide on how much it would need to bring it back it back to round. but I see you are yunning the later style pistons, the 86 style pistons are available in several more sizes.

You need to take a pic of the top of the piston if you want opinions on how it was running. Like ky said, that cylinder and piston look good. Why dont you just get it all measured out, you might get away with a hone and new rings. No point in fixing what aint broke.

Clean the piston dome and your size answer will be there. If you live in so-cal have phathead bore it for you and he can also get you the piston and gasket kit. It cost me $209 for my zilla bore job and top end.

run the cr style piston wit the spacer plate in the 88 and 89 mod they have a longer rod get it bored just to have a fresh engine so u know how it runs fresh the jug may also be glazed just hone it and mic it see if its past the tolerance if so or close bore it also buy a adjustable timing plate lots of horsepower from it if timed properly i recomend it it can also add a longer life to a piston if timed right
