Default Shorter Shocks???

Does anyone of a shorter front shock that I can use on my 250r like a 300ex or something? I did some flattrack racing last night and it is just too high off the ground and I need to lower it down a bit. I don't want to spend the money on Works or Elkas if I don't have to. There are no jumps so I don't need a high end pair of shocks.

I believe you may have answered your own question. im not exactly sure, but I think the 300ex shocks are pretty short and should help you out.

ky is exactly right. The 300EX/250X shocks should be the ticket.

I thought they would but wanted to make sure. I may rob the front shocks off my girlfriends 250ex for the next race. I'm sure she won't mind.

300ex shocks are just over 13 inches fro m eye to eye ,rjatv sells chrome plated front shock kits that are really nice (i ru n a set on my banshee)they are adjustable and 12" for m eye to eye whcih is the perfect height to lay your a-arms flat but the nice thing is they are brand new ,tight, and solid these rated for 400 pounds not worn out used ebay honda shocks ,for those fast corners and getting the low profile they work really well ...just something to thin kabout im pretty sure he sells them for like $120

Ok thanks Denny. I'll keep that in mind if I can't find a decent used set.

Well with the 450r front shocks on the front and the +2 a arms, I don't know if it will be low enough. I finished third and two 450's were first and second. The yamaha yfz won, honda 450r was second and they were both about three inches off the ground. I know the guy with the honda and he has close to 15 grand in it...he is runing a big bore/stroker combo. I found out later the yamaha was running on alcohol, I thought it smelled funny but didn't think much of it. I have the power in the straightaways...I am right there with them, but they just out handled me in the corners. I am getting it as low and wide as possible and changing a few things with the engine to help control wheel spin and get it hooking up better.

lightend flywheel and nology coil you will hit powerband sooner out of corners and have alot better throttle response add in some 12 inch front shocks and you would see a big improvment

Are you on a tt style track or oval?

For ovals you can run a wider offset wheel on your outside wheels, and normal on the inside. Ive seen a flattrack zilla with a -3 swingarm to get out of the corners faster. Ive also heard a front sway bar is a must with flat track.
I also know a guy running works front shocks off of a yamaha warrior on his
lt250r to make it lower
