Basically the title explains it. I replaced my axle and realized my bearings were a little loose. So I order some new ones. All fine and dandy, but here is my problem. I don't know how to even start about getting the outside race out of this thing. In most machines you can at lest get something on the edge of the race to knock it out. Here is a picture to explain a little better http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/e...37/250/010.jpg as you can see the small taper behind the race makes it pretty impossible to get anything behind it to catch on the thing to knock it out. I went as far as to grind at some scrap steal bar I had and it just bent when I tried to smack it. Any Idea's on how to get this thing out without taking it to a machine shop? I mean I have a good bit of tools and stuff, but I can't think of how/where to even start as of now.

I already tried that I took a piece of 1 1/2 by 1/8 inch steel and ground the side of it off so there was like a hook and when I did get it to catch it just kind of just smashed flat when I hit it with a hammer ![]()

Nevermind. Welded a piece of steel to the race and then knocked it out ![]()
