Default 400EX Front Spindle Conversion, HELP!

I picked up the parts required to complete the 400EX front spindle and 250R caliper conversion, or so I thought... I bought what I was told was a set of 400EX spindles, hubs, and rotors, and then I also bought a set of PRP 250R brake caliper adaptors. The thing is, the adaptors don't line up with the holes on the spindles. Are there different year 400EX spindles? Different year adaptors?

Here are some pics of the spindles, hubs, and rotors that I bought.

Here is a pic of the adaptor.

Here are some pics trying to show how the bolt holes don't line up.

Here is a pic of the setup that was advertised by the seller of the adaptors with his 400EX hubs.

Any help here with this would be greatly appreciated. Or else I just wasted a bunch of money...

Can anyone confirm that they are 450R spindles? I know that is probably a dumb question to ask on here...

Have you swapped out the spindles yet? I just tried the EX spindle conversion, and was very dissapointed at the outcome. The first pic is of the old R spindle, the second is with the EX spindle in place. Is there something I am missing here, or are these not a direct bolt on swap like I thought?

BTW, the holes for the brake calipers measure about 3 and 5/16 inches from center to center. They also look a bit different than yours.

No I haven't actually tried putting the spindles on yet, and won't be able to until the end up June, which is when I move back home to MI where my R is. As far as I know they're supposed to be a direct bolt on, except the fact that you need the 250R brake caliper adaptors to use the stock dual piston 250R brake calipers.

The more I look at it, I'm pretty sure these are 450R spindles. I just measured the ones that I have here and they are like 2-15/16" center to center, and then the adaptors that I have are like 3-5/16". The same size as your 400EX spindles. Thanks for the measurements btw . I definitely have the wrong spindles...

Looks like I'm either going to have to sell the spindles, hubs, and rotors and pick up some 400EX ones to replace them. Or I'm going to have to sell the adaptors and find some 450R brake calipers.

I hate when people mis-advertise parts

the hubs/rotors should be the same for 450r and 400ex. You would just need spindles.

I might have a set of 400ex spindles laying around ill have to look.
