Default Jetting/Carb Questions.

Just got this machine running and to get the motor to idle I have the idle/choke threaded almost all the way up, essentially i have mo choke so I have to give it gas to start it. I played with the pilot jet and I can make it worse but not better. What should I do go up on the jet i assume? Also I have great power from off idle to 3/4 throttle over that the motor hesitates almost like it is missing possible too small of a main jet? Could the float be too low? Also how do you check the float level? On my 4pokers there was a drain screw and barb I hooked a clear hose to check it but I have nothing like that on this carb. Thanks in advance!

well if you go bigger on the pilot jet and it gets worse... then you prolly need to go smaller, and the main jet prolly needs to go bigger. What jets do you have in it right now???

if it stumbles at 3/4 throttle and you let off and it getts better it is to rich on the main.... if it runs better with the choke it is lean on the 0 to 1/2 throttle .. if it is worst visrusa .. if it revs and gallups on its own off idol it is hunting which is lean.. make sure you have no intake leaks first to a sure proper jetting, ,,, switch one thing at a time ,, so if wrong you can go back to your base point...

Ok here is what I found, first off I sent my brother in law to get my plugs, he got br9es instead of br8es, no big deal I thought but more on this toward the end. Got my esr 5 pipe today put it on also bought some jets while i was at work, unfortunately they only had 152 and 155 I bought them both not knowing what was in it come to find out it has a 162 or 165, cant remember now, so i left that jet in cleaned everything again put it together and set the needle to the mid point. Rode it and it was still sluggish/boggy at above 3/4. I think ok I will change the plug, go to grab one and that is when I realized the heat range was off, off to the store and got a B8ES put it in and now the motor is an animal from 3/4 to WOT but off idle it leaves little to be desired and 1/2 to 3/4 seems like untill the motor gets wound up bit it dosent want to go at all which is odd as it was good in this range before. I am a little confused but my thoughts are rich on the main lean on the pilot judging from the info at duncanracing. Have to order some jets and play around but I think I will leave the main rich for now untill I get this second tank of gas through the motor.
