Default low power in 6th. Help

i noticed that my pipe does not sit tight on the exhaust flang from the head. does this effect performance. for some reason when i hit 6th gear, it sounds like the motor doesnt have enought power to wind it out, just goes steady at around the same RPM with a little increase. just tring to pin point the problem. 'specs of the bike. 87" port polished, hot rods, oem sprokets, 20" rear tires, 67.5mm piston. thanks to all in advance.

did you check all the normal stuff? plug, air filter, jetting, reeds?
the exhaust not tight with the flang shouldn't hurt top end performance.

6th gear is pretty long on an r. If your a bigger guy, or dont have many mods, dont expect a whole lot out of 6th. 6th is for cruise control on your local roads lol.
