| Cylinders are the same for all years, besides port layout, direct bolt on to any yr bottom end as long as the crank yr and piston yr match. The best way to go about it is, have the head cut for the added stroke, no spacer plate = sleeper, lol

| Well i am wanting to run the stroker cranks, but they only come in the long rod version. So if i buy the crank i need to use the 89 piston, because the pin height is made for the longer rod. Will the 89 piston and long rod crank combo work in the 86 cylinder? |

| Yes, Im pretty sure that works just fine. The question is, what bore are you on? 87-89 pistons only go to .080 over. PM Denny or Nick they'll know for sure.

| I have the +4 stroker in my 86 and had to use a spacer plate to get the stroker to work. We tried everything but had to tear it down and end up spacering it. Be prepared for major compression!!! We have to pull start mine, but once she is fired the stroker motor comes to life. My buddy just had a esr 310 big bore built as we are pretty even till 3rd gear im pulling away and gone. Gotta love a stroker with a great port job. |

| yep.... i would run a 86 piston... and a spacer plate... unless your bore is small enough to run the later style piston.... then you dont have to worry about the extra gasket all the time...

| Im only at .040 over as it turns out. Ill probably just flip a coin when i get the money as to what setup to use |

| What size spacer would you need for an 87-89 4 mil stroker crank for the 86?

89 rod 89 piston or 89 rod and 86 piston with spacer plate... the only reason people run the 86 piston is the 89 piston only bore out to like .60 or something and the 86 piston goes to like .90 so if you are under .60 run the 89 piston... if over run the 86 piston with a spacer plate. have the head milled 2.00 for added stroke... you should be good to go... make sure when you mill the head out u need to make the dome size 69.00 in diameter and 2.00 mil deeper
