TRX250R is an unknown quantity at this point
Default mid rpm miss

'86 trx250r
freshly rebuilt engine with ported and polished jug
boysen rad valve
coolhead w/19cc dome
29mm carb
runnin' 110

So, the search feature is not working on this site - so here is my question, which I'm sure has been gone over before

Let's say I'm in 4th gear mid rpm range... I get a nice little miss and she spits 'n spudders. I'll drop a gear, and it goes away - it seems as if when I'm out of the power band it doesn't like to fire properly. Any ideas?

If it is the original carb then i believe it is a 34mm.
If its running fine at Wide open throttle and at low rpms,i would check your needle position.
pilot jet is for low rpm/needle is for mid, main jet for top.
Before you go chainging a bunch of stuff though i would try a new spark plug.

well - here's the thing. I purchased this quad last fall, and have just began riding it. The guy gave me the original car, and said it had a larger carb on it. SO - I'm assuming he was not lying (I believe people) I'll definitely check the plug - and if that looks fine... looks like it's time to tinker with the carb...
