Default Jetting....Help!

Okay, so I rode the project for the first time last night and its jetting is SCREWED. It idles fine, first and second gear run like SHIT (like it is getting too much fuel) then 3rd and up hit powerband decent but the total top end starts cutting out.

I don't know many details of the motor because I got it with the frame. It is done by Paul Turner, top end, exhaust and all. I mic'd the bore however I don't recall what it was. It was just a hair above stock. The guy that had it before was a flat track racer and original owner. It hasn't ever been blown up and bored so whatever Turner did is how it is still.

Basically I need any recommendations on the jetting that can be given.
Thanks!

Yes carb size would help lots.

On a 250R I like a small pilot, like a 45. I find that they like to be lean on the needle also. About a 175 on the main would be a good place to start If your running a 38mm. Is the cylinder ported or not.

I will keep an update of the current jets and carb size hopefully tonight. I have to go look at cars with the g/f..... .. . .. . .

Flotek, how are you at jetting? I really can't ride here anyway and I will be going up to Conneaut Lake in a few weeks.

Which pt pipe? Eliminator or high rev Id start at 52 or 50 pilot and 165-168 if your on pump gas, 168-170 if its over 190psi and on race gas. Should be a close safe starting point.
