Default Help with my 310 (and some rebuild pics)

Hey guys, I thought with a 86 crank you didnt need to use any spacers. I put it on,turned the crank to tdc and the top ring released above the cylinder lol. Then I put the smallest of the 3 spacers I got with the cylinder, did a squish test and it looked about as thick as a piece of paper lol. Only thing I can come up with is the crank I got is a 87-89. Bought it of a 250r owner on planet sand. Any ideas? And also, what the hell kind of tool do you use to get at the front 2 base studs, crows feet dont work lol.

Its supposed to be a stock stroke 86 oem crank rebuilt with a hot rods rod. I have two 5 mm spacers and one I think 3mm spacer, its under the cylinder right now or Id know for sure. If its a 86 crank, well rod, it should bolt on without a spacer right?

And what damn tool do ya use for those front base nuts, they seem imposible. I ended up cutting a 14mm wrench down real thin just to get it snug. I bought crows feet to do it right but lol they wont fit in there

Yea, if it's a stock stroke '86 crank (short rod) the cylinder should bolt on without a spacer plate. Have you tried any of the spacers to see if they'd work? Perhaps the person you bought the bottom end off from told you the wrong crank.

As far as those front base nuts, I think you've figured out about the only way to get to them. That's how I ended up tightening mine, grinding down a wrench. It sucks because you can't accurately torque them. Just make sure and get them tight

Still waiting for the little snap ring that holds the little block on for the brake stay and the thrust washer between the inner hub and clutch basket. Im surprised that for how long its been ripped apart thats all I lost lol.
