| ya i threw one on my 88 once when it was still bone stock, and i felt a noticeable increase |

| the pipe and the porting work hand in hand ,fmf would be good for a stock bike as it usually does for most bikes and quads ,but you start getting into some porting and race mods the other pipes will handily outpull it and shine the wrong pipe can make or break an otherwise awesome setup

| I have tried the bills pipe, curtis sparks mx,fmf fatty, and pt pipes. If i were on a budget i would buy just about anything that isnt stock. As for fmf,i dont think they are as bad as they are made out to be. It seems like they are made for people who just want to replace the stockers and get a little more out of thier bike. I have never heard fmf or anyone speaking for fmf recommending thier pipes for drag quads or highly modified quads. The pipe does what its supposed to do,and it is an improvement over stock. We had fmf gnarly pipes on one of our banshees and i loved them. Of course if someone takes thier trx11 or ftz pipe off of thier highly modded 250r and throws an fmf off they are going to be dissapointed |

| yes the LRD is a lowend pipe, especially with a 300-310cc motor |

| Ok,Im no pipe expert, but Ive tried many on stock and built 250r!Here is what I have learned; The FMF(all of them gnarly, gold ect..) all suck on any built motor. For a stock motor, they help but are still not the best bang for the buck.So for a stock or semi-stock motor I liked the bills pipe first,PT pipes next!I dont like the ESR 5 pipe at all(Its a toss-up with a FMF) on a semi stock motor. The big bore bike will run the best with a K.R. drag/shearer pipe(out of frame though)For in frame big bore I really love my duncan pipe, with a LRD a close second and the ESR type 11 pipe next.Hope this helps out!Ive wasted lots of $$$$ on pipes and many years of trying to get the right combo. As floteck says its about matching the port work ,thats the key!!

| I just bought a FMF SST and I love it!!! It makes great bottom to mid-range power and the top end really sings too. I think FMF makes good pipes. But just like everyone else said, if you do a lot of engine mods you might need to up-grade.
