As far as the maxima super m goes. I think I would like to continue useing that oil. Here is what it has to say.

"Super-M is a high performance racing 2-Cycle lubricant incorporating the latest technology. Super-M is a blend of clean burning petroleum base oil, synthetic polyolester, polybutene, anti-scuff/anti-wear compounds and a new additive that keeps rings, power valves and the exhaust tract "carbon free". Another newly developed additive 2000 Centistoke Ester provides additional anti-scuff protection as well as enhanced rust & corrosion protection. This environmentally friendly “smokeless” formula is in a class by itself."

They recommend a 40:1 ratio. How come it says on my original tank 20:1 ? What do you guys think ? try mixing 40:1 and see how it goes ?
it says 20:1 on the tank becouse thats what the FACTORY recommends on a sythenic based oil

the SUPER M oil is a castor/sythentic based but CASTOR is very thick oil and burns slow and smokes alot

so they recommend u burn super m at 40:1 so i doesnt smoke as much and doesnt foul plugs like crazy

but i have noticed on my 250r's they like CASTOR 927 which is a maxima oil to burned at 32;1 for some reason single cylinders dont like 40;1 i have beend threw two top ends and a crank in one years time on 40;1

then i started running 32;1 on my atc250r and i have been on the same top end for 4 years with no problems

see banshee's can run 40;1 becouse each cylinder is only what 175cc each so they dont need as much oil

in my opinion, the way its set up is perfect for you.
i wouldnt change a thing. maybe a port down the
road when your more comfortable on the atv, but
for the type of riding your doing, i would leave it
as is. that is a VERY nice atv, ride with pride

I don't think this is sound advice you're giving him. I'm going to just go and say that fuel:oil ratio has nothing practical to do with these ATV bore sizes.

The oil mixture required at 20:1 was given prior to mainstream synthetic 2stroke oils on the market. Back in the 80's we ran a lot of pure dyno oil. Synthetic oils though I can't tell you why exactly seem to be able to run in leaner proportions. Amsoil makes/made a 100:1 oil. Dominator and INterceptor are both 50:1 oils. The summary is that the oil composition and so the manufacturers of the oil determines how much you need in your gasoline to keep the crank, bearings and cylinder coated.

By the way though, I have read perhaps older articles that state that running richer in oil can increase hp citing better ring sealing. I don't know how that relates to running with today's oils, but it's something to think about possibly.

Thanks man. The fenders were trimmed up when I got it.

Im still secong guessing if this was the right machine for me. The powerband on it just makes me uneasy specially in 1st-2nd gear Ive put an honest 25-30 miles on it max. However I will only get rid of it if someone were to offer me exactly what I paid for it. Which is $3600 if anyone is interested let me know. Its been armour all'd after each ride ( which were short rides )
