| well i will say taht my R is set up to be as torquey as it can, so it really kinda lacks in peak HP and the 450s still beat it in torque, and i dont think you can deny taht a oem cylinder cant make the same torque numbers as a 450 |

| This has turned into a good 2-stroke vs. 4-stroke thread!!!Now to say that a oem cyl cant make enough power to roll with 450's is not true! They can and do.Now like flotek said its where the power is made. The rpm's can be instant on a 2 stroke and thats where you want it!In a drag from dumping the clutch to powerband on a 2 stroke is wayyyyyy faster than a 4-stroke.I kept talking about my DS 650 running real good and people thought I was crazy, but the power is there on those big 4-strokes.The 4-strokes can make good power, just not as quick as the 2-strokers.Anyway get the right paddles for your r and have fun!!!

| well on a 2 storke youve got to wait for the power to kick in, where as a 4 stroke is instant power, people always are talking about how they like the power band for some reason, but the powerband on a 2 stroke is exactly why i got a LTR |

| You will have to play with gearing as well, but start with some triple buff haulers with 8 paddles! probably 20x9's will be best! 4psi and dump it hard from second gear and gear it from there!!

| The power your talking about is when your lugging in a gear, you can hit the gas and come out of it with ease. The 2 stroke would need to be down shifted to be on the pipe! Now from a dead stop drag, the 2 stroke will hit wayyyy quicker for sure. Now a stock, ported oem cyl. still needs a good reed cage to perform well.I know what you mean about the power, its just a little different feeling. Both my trx and DS are close in HP,but from a dead stop drag the r will kill it,now put both in a wash already going, and the DS has a much better chance and Im sure if I wanted to max both out for a 1/2 mile or more the DS would come out on top!! P.S. I rode all the 450's and for some reason those LTR's are quicker than shiT and by far the best of the 450 bunch!!

| Im running a 15 front and a 40 rear. For me its good.Try a 13,14,and 15 to see how it does.Sometimes a 15 you need 1st to start but it can work out good!

| thats where the right mods come into play like a upgraded ignition/curve and flywheel setup makes the power available sooner and helps in holeshots corners and climbs ,faster just cause your 250 isnt up to par in the power department doesnt mean everybody is suffering for m the same anemic problems. torque times rpm divided by 5252 equals your horspower ,its just a mathmatical number... the curve means more
