ESR TRX5...Not Impressed

I just got my brand new ESR TRX5 pipe straight from ESR. Anyway, I am not too impressed with the physical appearance. The chrome is incredible BUT....the springs are so damn tight that they have dented the pipe, there are tiny dents in the pipe in a few locations, and the inside of the pipe is all rusted up. I would expect when you buy something of that price it would come in what looks like "BRAND NEW" condition, not something that has sat with salt water inside it for a year or two. I also wasn't too impressed when I pulled the one spring and all the chrome fell off........I understand it was under stress and all but if it came off that easily on there, imagine what one rock chip will do to the pipe.....

I am really picky about my stuff but I feel when you pay for a show car, you get a show car, not a test drive base model.

I guess performance wise it will be nice, I just figured I would vent a little.

i had a trx 5 once the chrome was off the bottom they say they have new show chrome maybe you got on of the older models still on the shelf? sees like alot of people have problems with esr chrome but you certinly cant beat the pipe performance id call and bitch theyll make it right with you

I bought mine from esr about 1.5 years ago. The chrome looked good like you said and it was also rusted inside. I was a little dissapointed but at the same time there isnt as much demand for them as ther once was so you kinda have to expect that they would be sitting on the shelf for quite some time. I havent had the chrome chip or anything on mine so maybe that was an issue with only your pipe.

on a side note... mine now has finger prints all over it and i cant get them off. what does everyone use to polish theirs? or are the finger prints there for good?

when i put springs on i use a spring pulller so there is no damage

and esr is located at pismo ca thats the orignal shop and the only one i can think of so they live by a salt water air enviroment and the shop is right at the beach really close

and ESR was bought out by a bunch of arabs yup they sold out about a year ago and i have heard there quailty has gone to shit making stuff faster and cheaper

I also got an esr trx5 a few days ago and I thought the quality was exceptionally nice considering it was $319 for the pipe and silencer.

A bit of rust on the inside is expected unless it's constructed of stainless steel, at which point I would expect the price to at least double.

id call them up thet ll make it right i bet ,usually theyre beautiful but mistakes happen

i use purple polish works real nice on the chrome and aluminum peices

wait wait wait.....so when you order the pipe for 275 it IS supposed to come with a silencer??? Because I sure as hell didn't get a silencer...

center mounts the price includes the silencer standard pipes the silencer is 90.00 i think
