Default v-force vs boyeson

My 89 trx is now 301cc's (la sleeve) with a trx5 pipe, carb is a kehin that has been bored oversize, not sure the exact specs, also boyeson reeds.

Would their be a noticeable difference going to v-force reeds? (enough to justify the cost?).

Also the boyeson reeds have the carb adapter built in. Seems like I would need a piece to bolt between the v-force reeds and the carb if I were to go that route?

I would use the search feature but it does not seem to work for me. Thanks!

You have a boyesen rad valve. They are good for low to mid power. A lot of guys run them for woods racing and technical motocross tracks. The v-force reed valve will definitely help out in the mid to upper rpm range and yes you would need an intake manifold.

well let me ask you this...

Your Race MX?
GNCC?
lot's of drags that require crisp throttle responce?

if you answered no to all of those then no it's not worth the extra coin.

when i put VF3's in my yz i noticed it really cleared up the bottom end flutter, and could go into corners a gear higher then i could with regular stock plastic reeds

Thanks guys, and no I don't race. Just used more in open areas and sand dunes. I feel the top end is lacking. Would like it to have more of a banshee feel as far as rpm capability.

If I were to go with the v-force what intake manifold would compliment them?

the reeds alone arn't going to get you more top-end. atleast not any that's noticable.
