Default Do I Need Race Gas?

At what point do you NEED race gas? I am running .30 over, 170 compression, 38mm Airstryker Carb, Flotek porting, and a Turner exhaust for now since the ESR was a POS and didn't mount up properly.

What are the pros and cons of running race gas? Is it a must and what could the negative results be in not running it?

Negative = Spendy as fuck, and if you don't need race gas it doesn't do anything.

Positive = prevents detonation in high compression engines.

i'd say run as low octane as you can without pinging. unless your motors tuned to need race fuel

Sounds like with what you have you would benefit from some higher octane.

why wont the esr pipe work ? the duncan is going ot hold you back sounds like you happened ot get a bad one out of many who have had good dealings with them .170psi doesnt need race gas ,its there mostly ot ward off detonation and yours shouldnt on 93 or 94 octane atleast with our elevetions and your port anywas

The first like foot of the header rubs the frame. I can rig it to make it work but I am not too thrilled with that idea. I will try again, I just want to take it for a ride first.

You'll be better off to leave that ESR pipe off!The PT will out performe for sure.I think flotek must be getting a cut from ESR on those crappy pipes!!!!Im sure if he tried both of them on the same machine he would know what Im talking about!!!!

Took it out for a putter.....God damn it's hard to ride a 2 stroke slow haha. Can't wait for it to be broke in. I'm considering returning the ESR since it doesn't mount right. Wrapping up this project for this year and buying a new vehicle......I sold my big diesel in February and haven't bought anything since. The Turner should be good enough for this year.

I dropped mine back from 210psi to 180psi to run on 93. It does fine on 93 with no detonation.

No Denny if you worked for ESR thier porting would probably be better and not going downhill. IMO i wouldnt buy a product from either of those companys unless it was a pipe or carb or something that didnt require in house machine work.

BTW I have ridden both versions of the pt pipe on the quadracer, and i would have to say that there are better pipes than pt for sure
