| I just put an ESR 310 on my atc and can't keep it cool- found out I need aftermarket radiators. Any good additives or advice in the mean time? |

| Engine Ice, Watter Wetter, and the like. In-line coolers should help as well, in theory.

| I always run the stock rad.'s on the 310 and 330's with no problem, and Im here in phoenix!!Maybe check your waterpump for a good flow! The engine ice is a good product too!!

| atcsteve- whats a good way to check my water pump? Pulled the return line off and it is pushing through- pretty powerful but how do I check it right? can see it moving around in the radiator too but with the vibrations hard to tell allot. Also are you running a 50/50 antifreeze mix? I have a cr250 ignition as well- gonna try and retard it a couple degrees too. The jetting is way fat pwk38 with 50 pilot, 185 main and dgh needle on 4th clip so I know thats not the problem- only other thing I can think of is the radiator cap. Is engine ice added to a 50/50 mix better than running straight liquid performance? Or can you add it to liquid performance? Last edited by EAT_A_450; 07-08-2008 at 06:48 PM. |

| Sometimes when you have a new motor, things are tight and can run a little hotter than normal for a little while.Running it rich for the break in is a good idea as well.As far as a test for the waterpump, there really isnt a perfect one that I know of.I eyeball mine for pressure. You should run a temp gauge and watch it for a while.I dont ever run mine over 190-200.Whats your plug look like?Long rod or short?Does it run ok? Oh yea,I run the engine ice by itself!

| plug is a br9es- It's a chocalate brown color but thats not accurate because i've been running the same plug with diff jets- I did some plug chops and kept putting the same ole plug back in- I'll try a new one and let you know if the prob consist. It is a short rod and it runs great other than the top end but thats because I'm running it rich till I get this prob is fixed- It just flats out now. I do need to get an inline temp gauge- I can't tell it's heating now till I stop every 5 min and check and when it heats it heats! boils out the reserve. Their are some on ebay for $95 with an inline cooler built in and a seperate inline cooler- is that about as good as I'll find? And you run straight engine ice? no water or coolant? Have you always rann that with these motors? |
