Electric start for an 86 trx 250r

i bet there is a way to fab up a starter to the kicker gear but you would have to do alot of rigging and customizing.. not really worth it unless you dont have legs and wanna ride your 250r

Well actually this isnt for a quad. Im customizing an 89 pilot. So It will take some crazy custom fab

hahaha... dont have legs, and riding an R..... when i was in highschool some friends of mine started a project to put an electric starter on an old two strok dirtbike.... they were ssuccseful in doing so, but it was alota work from what i understand.... they had to add a battery, and wiring, and do stator modifications, and had this ugly ass thing on the side of the engine.... it can be done... but i duno if its worth it.... i have never personaly heard of any kits that offer this! im pretty sure it would be a "one off", you would have to fab it up.........

Well the pilot already comes with a battery and most of the mods needed, except for the actual starter and such. Im fairly spun up on the electrical side of things. Do you know what they had to with the stator?

nope, sory bro..... i dont know what they did exactly..... it was there senior project, and it got them an A+ in ag mechanics class........ if i see one of them around i will ask. i dont have any phone numbers... you know how it is after highschool.. lol.......

if you already got a battery and all that stuff, it might be alot easier then i thought.... i willl keep my eye out for information.

they prolly had to make the coil charge the battery..... that way you dont need to charge it every where you go.

there is a member on this site his name is rss396 and I believe he has a electric start on his 250r quad that has the cr 500 motor in it. Ive seen it in person but not a 100% certain it was him but it might have been a buddy of his.

is the pilot a 4 stroke 350??
