Default piston question

are there any advantages of using an 86 style piston in an 88 R? i know i will have to have a spacer plate to use it , also i know wiseco offers more bore sizes for the 86 style. im at 67.5mm now so i only have one more on my cylinder after this one.

thats about the only advantage that I know of, the extra overbore sizes. but the intake windows are different where on the 86 piston theres a half-moon shape cuttout on the bottom of the skirt as opposed to the 87-89 where it has a small square intake window in the skirt.
