Default CR 80R Cylinder Plated?

I am rebuilding a '96 CR 80R for a friend. Anyone know if the cylinder is plated in this bike? Can the plating be cut off when it is bored out and used as a standard steel cylinder. Thanks for any help.

It's probably plated, you would need to bore it all the way out, then install a sleeve, probably be cheaper just to have it replated

Yes that cylinder IS plated. It would be cheaper usually to have it plated vs having the cylinder resleeved. Plus from what I hear, you lose power by resleeving vs replating.

go get it plated i use us chrome to do all my plating.. there fast and the work is great... the sleeve issue isnt a go idea it does loose power plus adds weight. plus i seen the sleeve twist/ drop. plus the ports need match and most places will charge the rate of porting,,
