Default 98 cr125 any tips appreciated

Hey everyone,

just bought a used 98 cr125 for 800. Took a ride earlier and it's got a bunch of power. I'm not sure of the previous maintenance, so I want to do the top end for this summer, then this winter do another entire rebuild, then next spring I want to pull and redo all bearings.

The only part i'm nervous about is the bottom end. The cheapest crankcase splitter is from Tusk aruond 60$ and crankshaft puller to get the crankcases back together, another 60. I knwo of the freezing and heating method, but are there any other cheaper ways to do this without damaging anything? I was also thinking of buying motion-pros bearing remover set, http://motionpro.com/motorcycle/tool...g_remover_sets
Will that take care of all my bearing needs, like wheels, engine bearings?

Any tips at all about any part of the engine or bike would be appreciated.

true it does read nicely on the compression, but for the future
im thinking about spending the exact same amount of money, but it would go to a 144 big bore from eric gorr. Does that sound reasonable? If so will I need to re-jet? What should I jet to?

thanks
-tyler

after i ride this bike for a while and get it hot, when i shut it off smoke is still coming out of the muffler for like 5-10 minutes. heavy at first then it slows down a lot. its less than when its running, it basically looks like the smoke coming off of a lit cigarette. the tranny oil is really bad i need to change that, air filter is brutal. i'm repacking the silencer this weekend but it hasnt come yet.
-thanks
