Default cr 500 connecting rod

okay the guy says the rods r all the same its the crank know he sayz its a 1990 gug on it and he is reordering the right one what the fuk is going on

I know for a fact that the connecting rods for a 86 and 87 are different. The 87-01 rods are longer, there was also a case change in 87.

If you have a 86 or older, I believe you have to get a factory rod, I used to have an 85 and I could not ever find a connecting rod aftermarket for it.

The '87 and up has a 5mm longer rod than the 85, 86. I couldn't find a new '86 crank, so I got an '87 crank and an alluminum spacer plate and gaskets from Cometic gasket. I also had to get longer cylinder studs.
