1981 cr450r vs. banshee 2001

yep,i know lots of people on here dont like these threads and say line them up and find out,i am oging to,but im curious.

my friend has an 01 shee,,,t'5s,jetted to perfection,boysen reeds,and his electrical is all hyped up,and bored 30 over with wiseco pistons.razr 2 tires in the rear and stock front,stock gearing.ill admit it scoots.




he thinks it will walk all over my 1981 cr450r 30 over with a pro lite piston.was clocked 105-109mph with a 250lb rider alongside our car.from what ive read on many threads,they were stock of 65hp.
4 gear tranny.1st gear hits i think it was like 35mph without winding badly.rear sprocket has an extra tooth.tire has terad higher then a 50 cent piece.

hes just being cocky,and thinks hes the god of banshees.
race will be on hard dirt.

i think were gonna race in 2 days in the field behind my house.also my buddy with a wimpy yfz450 wants to join,lmao.

well your bike doesnt make 65 horse stock but yo ushould surely beat a stock ported banshee ,neither machine is known for good traction id race on the street so theres no hard feelings about it

yes it makes a stock 65hp.

this is an old thread,asnd i tlake din the shoutbox with yass bout it,but it does make 65hp.

look it on google.

southwest cycles of mohave valley,az had one and they said it was dynoying at 64.3hp

The rider plays a huge part in any race... I have beaten a CR250 with a LT250, then beaten a banshee with the same CR250... Its all about rider skill and traction...

Isnt this the same dirtbike that you once claimed was bored and stroked to over 500cc?????

A CR480 was only rated at 51hp.... and 43hp to the rear wheel in the 1982 dirtbike magazine shootouts... A 480 is 42cc's larger than a 450... you must be reading the wrong threads... Probably the same ones where you are getting your info regarding 539hp junkyard 396ci boat anchors...

oh my lord.
i guess im going ot have to take this thing ot a shop so i can get some papers.
you dont have tio belive its pushing 65hp.
because i KNOW it does=Djust watch,ill get the dyno papers one of these days.
ill find the site again stating it

that race happened quite a while back,i wlaked all the hell over his banshee.
the seller that sold it ot me claimed that it was over 500cc,until i took it apart and discovered it was 30 over,i know it aint the stock crank,idk what the hell it is,,idk bout stroking much,but its definately something.

the carb and the throaght on its HUMUNGOUS!

the bike was used for hillbimbing i think,it has a pretty gnarley gear ratio on it

about the 396 boat anchor as you say.
it WAS 539hp,were about 625 hp at the moment,as we milled the heads,and put 12.5:1 keith blacks in it,and a better gear drive

im not creating an argument,but sorry dude,its not a boat anchor,itll problly roast the hell out of anything you have .

id like to see those dyno sheets because newer kx and cr 500s made 60 horse stock on an fmf dyno i read about it in dirtbike magazine id like to know wats been done to that cr 450
