Default 1999 Cr250

I've just recently acquired a 99 CR250. It looks like the chain came off the bike, (while in motion) and busted the hell out of the left case. So, the left case is toast.

I've been looking around on Ebay for a new engine for it and I've found a few. The two in particular that I've found are from a 96 and a 00. Does anybody know if either of these would fit in a 99 frame? I've had a lot of people tell me that it "should" but I'd hate to waste the money if it won't bolt up. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I looked up on the Honda micro fiche and they all have different part #'s for the cases. I don't think the motors would interchange. Heres the link to the fiche.

Thanks '02. I agree, it doesn't seem like they would work since they have different parts numbers for the different year cases. But, everything I'm seeing on Ebay says that the engines will fit 92-01. Anyone have any experience with this???

Oh, there's a chunk knocked out thats a little bigger than a golf ball. And I'm afraid my JB Welding skills aren't proficient enough to fix that hole. lol The thought had crossed my mind though.

try jb weld but make it good not just a slap on job. not sure but i dont think a case off an 96 will fit. apparently the honda cr250 motors were the same in 86 to 96 but it may fit, not sure
