I know a guy who has all the gaskets you need. PM me if you need any.

I love restos. You did a great job on the painting. Did you use plastic paint?

Paulie, I used Krylon, this bike is being a real pain the ass.

But I guess it's not the bikes fault. whoever took it apart and put it back together prior should have used a manual. All the little shims, spacers, and adjusters etc for the rear tire and swing arm were wrong. Just a lot of stuff with this bike has been annoying.

I have a new head gasket but if it leaks out of any other orifices once I really get it going i'll get a hold of you thanks.

Well it's basically done and I rode it today!!!!! First pics..

Here is what I had to do to the swingarm to get the bolt removed from my issue earlier in the thread.. too bad really, but that big gash was missing due to the shock being installed 180* off by the previous person causing the shock bolt to come up and smash that gap...

Done & washed..

I'm sorry if I seem like I am post whoring with this. What was supposed to just be a new piston and then up and running turned into a project that has tested my sanity lol. Not to mention my wallet. It still could use new chain/sprockets, and I need to hook up the front brake cable. As well I have a new seat cover for it that's going on real soon. I also need to find some foot pegs. I cussed, talked to imaginary people who weren't there, etc.

The bike is actually pretty fast! It has really nice throttle response, the coolant and oil haven't tried having a party together yet, everything seems good so i'm happy. It's a pretty nice riding bike too. I get back from my first ride, and there is crankcase oil oozing from the shaft that the sprocket bolts too. I am asking myself how this is remotely possible.. not oozing from the seal, but the MIDDLE. I park it, brake clean the inside and have a look and from what I can tell someone must have tried punching it out using a straight edge screwdriver and they punched a hole through it! wtf..? I filled it with goop and let it sit, went back out and it's fine. There was all kinds of stuff in this poor bike done like the sprocket, the back wheel was missing shims, had extra ones in spots.. I could go on. A shop manual would have been great but I can say that 98% on this bike is now correct how it should be lol.

Now onto my 79 YZ 125...
