Default 85 atc 250r problem

hey there,
I didnt know where to post so I'd figure I would post my question here.
I just rebuilt the top end on my 85 250r and now Im just trying to sort out the jetting.the problem I cant figure out is that its bogging down bottom end,It takes a while for it to get into the band but once its in the mid to top end it flys but once u back of the throttle and go down a gear and go to take of again it bogs down a little then clears it self up,I have never touched the pilot yet and wondering if thats the problem if its too big or to small of a pilot jet.I have played around with the needle, main jet and I have tried adjusting the air screw but its made no difference.the only thing it could be is the pilot/slow jet but I dont know if it sounds like if it is too big or too small??? or what else could be causing it..

Thanks

Check the plug?Check air filter, make sure the motor is warm enough, check silencer,do a plug chop.I dont think the pilot jet is the problem. What size was your main jet before rebuild? What size is it now?

too rich on the bottom im guessing... start out with the needle in the middle position.... i think stock is like 48, clip on the 4th position and a 150 main... not positive though.... i would go down on the pilot... but if the pilot is stock... go up

YA if u only rebuilt the top end jetting should be the same. i would check some place other than the carb , something that could change, unlike the jets. like atcsteve stated check the consumables....filter, plug, gas??

Pilot jet is either nearly plugged or the air filter is dirty.

Thanks alot,
Its only the stock pilot I only rebuilt it cause it had a bad ring so I just went .20 over stock.I was running a 160 main before the rebuild It did bog down before the rebuild but as long as you had the power up to it.it was fine.I will clean the carb out, clean the filter and chuck a new plug in it and see what happens.there all new gaskets and I have checked and re-tentioned all the bolts there all fine.I checked the plug numerous times when I was riding it all I was getting was black and some times a little brown its running a 155 main at the moment on the 4th or 5th clip not too sure

cheers!
