Default stuck kick starter

I just bought my daughter a '02 cr80 and she took it out for her first ride today. She has only ridden 4 strokes and she was shifting way too early. I told her to let it get into the power band before she shifted and now the kick starter is stuck! I put the bike into 2nd and 3rd gears and tried to roll it and the wheel is locked. I am guessing that the piston is stuck. Is there any trouble shooting I can do before I rip the motor apart? Did she let it rev toooo high? Is there a rev limiter? Thank you for any advice!!!

i am havin trouble thinking a young girl would let it rev all the way up to the point where the engine would seize, i am just thinking the sound of the engine would intimidate her....anways i had a problem with my kick starter on my blaster, it was stuck in the down position until i lifted it up with my foot to kick or put away. turns out the spring lever needed to be put back in the indicating hole, if the engine isn't seized i would guess that this may be a possible problem!?

It definitely sounds pretty bad. Did she rev it and then suddenly the back tire locked up? Explain what happened.

$150 for a hot rod crank maybe less if you look on ebay. Those small motors are so cheap to build and fix. We are working on a KX80 right now pretty funny to see the size of the piston. We are figuring $500 to rebuild the entire motor on the KX80.
