oil leak

I just bought a 99 CR 250.It is leaking oil from a small machined hole on the bottom of the case just above the drain plug.anyone have any ideas on where this is coming from???
Also what gear oil should I use.One dealer said to use 10w40 another dealer said to use 80w85 honda gear oil.

take the bolt out see if it is stripped first if not try some gasket sealer. you can use regular motor oil but i recommend you use bel-ray gear saver 80-85w,
