Get your cylinder measured! I cant stress that enough. A loose piston can destroy your entire engine, trust me I learned the hard way years ago, it's much cheaper to get your cylinder bored and sized correctly than to bust a skirt and destroy the bottom end.

Also I think its great that your not afraid to work on your bike and want to learn. A top end job is very simple, just do it right and dont take any short cuts.

you cant bore these days bikes... it is impossible .. u guys are on the 250rs of the 80s where you just bore a bike and put in the next size piston.. these are made with some hard nickle whatever shit and you cnat do it .. you take it in and get re nickleseeled ro w/e and then u put it on the smae size piston ..

I thought the cr's were boreable, are you sure it's nikasiled?

positive. the early 80s u could bore them but not the later models. IM almost done with the topend just have to wait for a clip and washer to get here. then im selling her anyways.. It runs good but for the rideing I do I need a cr250. plus I was 5'7 when I got my cr125 a little over a year ago. now I'm like 6'2 and put on some weight sence then.

you can bore it out and have it replated I just did a 98 YZ125 80 over
