I have a 91 LT250 and would like to remove the stock kill switch/light switch and install a racing style kill switch. I have removed the headlight and tailight assembly so I don't need the wiring for them anymore. Any help would be great.

What exactly do you need help with? The kill switch just grounds the positive terminal of the ignition coil, so as long as the factory wires are safely tucked away and not touching anything metal, you'll be good to go. I've got a Pro Design kill switch on my TRX250R--installation was pretty simple. I just grounded one wire to the frame, and made a little jumper harness that allowed me to plug the other wire into the positive terminal on the ignition coil. Since you're removing the stock switch there will already be a wire that you can connect to the new kill switch. If you have a service manual a quick look at the wiring diagram should tell you which wire. Last edited by sza; 03-08-2007 at 01:15 AM.

Well I have stripped the whole quad down and was looking to clean up the loose wiring. That being said what wires can I discontinue? I have a copy of the wiring diagram (Clymer). Since the factory switch has the lights and kill switch together I was not sure which wires I could do without. Thanks so much! This is for a 91 LT250R
