i agree with everyone else too. CHECK YOUR COMPRESSION . . . especially if the backfiring doesn't stop. . .

Why would you take the engine back apart? it has something to do with time

so i am gonna try to set it in middle where normal riding range would be found..

Seat time.. 28 years WHY

i' read that kx weren't built for top and high revs wear them out. . . '
i saw you posted that you were burning a little bit of oil.
the cylinder on the kx have super fine trenches that hold oil to help piston resistance. maybe theres a problem there. . .

if there a stock timing mark? i would try setting it to that and see how it runs...if not before you ripeed it down draw a line with a sharpie cuase it ran before the rebuild right?

WELLI HAVE JUST BLOWN the damn exhaust out of the jug..i didnt have anything holding it but the two springs...and seh blew out the copper exh gasket..whats next folks..it there such a ling as being 180 degrees out???

she ran fine before,,,the crank bearing seized up on the crank,,

thats why i split the case on it
