honda250r is infamous around these parts
Exclamation 250R snorkel/Intake tube

On a 250r will the intake get more air with or without the intake tube that runs to the front of the bike Is it better to have it on or off.

Ive often wondered the same thing.
Dosnt seem to be too much airflow thorough mine .. maybe if i removed the headlight and radiator shroud.
But i guess not having it would equal less airflow ... being that its the only thing in the front of the bike to pull the air in.

good idea with the snorkel that air has to travel too far all the way from the front to the air box

I used to not run the long snorkel tube, just had it pluged up with a plastic spray paint can top. but recently I put it all back on so as i could run with my airbox lid on when I ride in wet or muddy trails. it it works pretty good actually, still gets plenty of air that way. I have mine run all the way up front where it makes the turn-down under the nose piece. and at one time I thought about making a ram-air intake setup by cutting and attaching the snorkal tube to my scooped racing hood. I bet it would work pretty good for drag racing or something, but probably not good for woods racing or trail riding since it would be easy for it to get clogged up with mud or water.

ya that would be a good idea but if i leave the air box open where the snorkel goes in wouldnt it get more air than with the snorkel on cause the air doesnt have to run through that entire tube Me and my neighbor are going to make a ram air for his 250r that has a hood scoop like yours

yea you could just leave the hole where the tube goes in the airbox open, but that wouldnt actually be a ram air. and plus if you ride in mud and water it would be very easy for shit to get in your airbox. but it would still get airflow into the airbox.
