Default UNI-Filter vs K&N

I run K&N right now and am wondering if the UNI foam dual stage filter would be better. I do sometimes ride in heavily dust conditions.

K&N's are great filters, they just require a lot of maintenance....I clean and oil mine after every ride unless its winter and there is no dirt in the air and always run a prefilter on it...but i guess maybe if all you do is ride in a dust bowl a two stage would be better

yea i never used to ride where we do now and its dusty as hell some days when it hasnt rained in a while.. i clean my k&n before every ride and run an outerwear on it too, but with so many people saying the dual uni foams are better i think im gona ditch the k&n... do the foams flow ALOT less air or is it not much of a difference?

I dont think there is any noticable difference. At least not by the seat of your pants dyno.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll just drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience!

haha yea good point about the condom.. ive never had a problem though, ive had the same one for about 3 years, clean it every ride, and while its off take a damp paper towl and rub it around the intakes, always comes out basically spotless, but now with riding in all this dust at this place sometimes.. i think its time to ditch it for a uni, do they make em to fit the k&n size adapter plates so you dont have to get a new plate and drill new holes in the airbox for it and shit.. mines all sealed in with epoxy and crap its there for good..

Well the dual stage foam actually needs leaner jetting because it does restrict more air than the K&N to flow through. (Less air=Less Gas=Uni- filter)
