anyone know how to size needle and seats? and whats the purpose of them?

think theres a number and letters on the needle, different numbers and letters are for different tapers of the needle

The needle and seat assembly regulates fuel volume in the bowl based on float level. Basically it's an on/off switch for fuel. As far as I know they're replaced based on which carb you have.
