Default carb issues

as some of u may know i this picked up a atc250r watercool 85

it was my uncles

fresh rebuilt motor top and bottom

will the carb is acting funny i had cleaned it twice with carb cleaner and took the jets out and cleaned them and i jetted it perfect it ran great and then the carb this started to spit gas out of the overflow tube and it wasnt even on it was this setting there and wont start at all

so i cleaned it again i went riding for about 20 mins and it started doing it again and the bike wont start at all its dead the plug is all black and wet

i run castor 927 at 32:1 and the oil is like a orange color will i took the fuel line off the carb side and it cam out realy dark color and then it turned a light orange color but clear

the gas tank has some black stuff at the bottom of it on the fuel filter side
the petcock filter is about 10 years old or maybe older maybe it is thrashed

what could it be that is making the carb spit gas out of the carb and making the bike not start after

or could it be the reeds or the carbutuer or dirty gas tank or the floats maybe?

It sounds like the mud in the bottom of the tank is filtering into the carb and causing the needle to stick open. Clean the tank out and then the carb and install a new filter and it should be okay.

dump out all the old gas, then use soap and water to get it clean then dump like a quart of clean gasoline in there and slosh it around and dump it out... you could also use some acetone....

I wouldn't use acetone, that can be bad on the plastic tanks, My trike did the same thing, i just bought a carb rebuild kit off of ebay for like $15 and it never did it again also look the needle over good for un even wear.... it's most likely just the float springs...

i would think it could also be that the floats might not be adjusted at the right level....so its letting the bowl fill up too much and flooding it. That would make sense as to why it woudln't start and would leak out the overflow.
