80cc shifter kart??

Hi, I have a buddy aka "fatboy" who helps his nephew race a 2 stroke 80cc shifter kart and he say's it put's out 60hp?? I don't think it's possible? does anybody know what a stock 80 put's out? how about built up?? I think it's a honda.
p.s. he also says he khows a guy with a briggs and stratton that put's out 70hp?????? I think he is FULL of sh@t??

yep filled to the brim. a newer 85cc mx dirt bike will put out between 18-25 hp. at my local drag strip they run mini dragsters (for kids). they are 5 hp brigs motors stock and then they can tweek them to the max. the fastest one on booze was puting down 32 hp at the wheels.

the auto teacher at my school races karts (circle track). hes got a yamaha f2(200cc). its 17 horsepower i think. pretty quick for a 4-joke. he was doing 60 in the parkinglot at school and its actually a pretty small stretch of asphalt. he said it will do 100mph easily.

oh yeah, i just remembered, my friend used to run the jr. drags with the 5 horse briggs. his was 33 horsepower i think. his dad built the motor. that thing hauled ass.

I've seen a couple of those shifter karts with yz250 motors in them and yz450f motors in them. They're too expensive for around here because pavement around my house is few and far between.

My buddy and I have been thinking about building a shifter kart with a blaster engine. The only problem is we don't know how to build the frame. Any of you guys have ideas on shifter kart frames?

i worked wit ha sped that built up briggs motors for race carts he has built some doosies but they dont hold together for long enough to be any damn good ,you take a machine thats designed for 5 hp max then up that 6 fold and your basically building a unstable pipe bomb . 80cc @60 hp maybe for .3 seconds till you detonate your topend!

I Have pusshed some blaster motors to the max and haven't had any reliability problems.290cc's and that isn't Guesstamated thats measured with Fluid buy volum not weight. But never got 60 out of them 49 is the max so far .
