The stock Cr125's in 6th gear are doing about 107mph
Modified CR125's do about 115-120mph

What is so impressive and exhilarating is going around 90degree sweepers at 100mph. Shifter karts go from 0-60 in under 4 seconds. We can come to a stop as quick. We pull 3-4 G's in turns.

You can buy a kart with engine package (used of course) for about $3,000 on up.

I run the stock CR class, because the maintenance costs are so much lower than a mdofied.

My notebook is in the trailer, With me in the kart (150lbs) and some added lead, we both weigh about 392lbs. 385 is minimum for the class.
Static weight I would guess is around 200lbs, with engine, water, ect. As i said I add some lead to the kart to make weight.

ok so if it weighs roughly the same as a 125 bike, why is it so much faster?

Because a kart has four large contact patches to the ground, where as a bike has two small (about 3/4'' for a RS125) contact patches. Karts can carry unbelievable corner speed, where a bike has to slow way down. I use to road race bikes and it is a big difference especially brake marks.

well im jsut tlaking about in a straight line, you said that they are getting over 100mph, and no 125 out there is going 100mph, and i dont think that karts are really geared so high that gearing is the only difference

It is the gearing. Look at the size of a rear gear on a dirt bike. What is it 6-8'' Diameter. Gear on a kart is a 1/4 of that.

Look at a RS125 GP bike. They go well over 100mph friend
