New to me steed in the stable!

I picked up a 98' KX250 today for $700.00. It was owned by a vet rider and never beaten. Some assclowns stole it 2 years ago and he got it back a few months later, lucky him. He bought new tires for it along with front and rear fender. Took it to a shop for a compression test and when they tried to kick it coolant spewed from the top end as it was loose. He parked it since. The bike is super clean for a 98' and only needs a rotating assembly. I already have that stuff bought on fleabay. It also came with new front and rear sprocket from renthal and a gold series chain never used. I will post up some pic's tomorrow.

Congrats on the purchase. The 98's are good bikes. I just bought my 96 for $900 a couple monthes ago.

Yeah, I'm stoked about it and can't wait until the parts come in so I can hear it breath fire. I'm like a kid in the candy store with all the parts I need to buy off fleabay.

Yeah I know the feeling. First thing I did was tear mine down and paint the frame black and order all black plastics.

that's a nice bike. did the guy have any suspension work done to it or didn't he race that bike? you'll love it!

No the previous owner was a vet trail rider, no track time and the whole bike is stock. The only aftermarket parts are the Renthal sprockets and DID Gold chain with no rides on them yet. I plan on keeping her stock as the 250 smokers are plenty fast enough. I checked Race Tech's website for the spring rates and I only have to change the fronts as the rear in stock form is for my weight. Makes it alot cheaper when I only have to buy front springs.

But yesterday I got the bottom end of the motor all put back together. All I'm waiting for is the piston kit, an exhaust valve shaft and she will be back in business. I will get some more pic's posted of my progress hopefully today.
