Max is an unknown quantity at this point
Default 01 kx 250 for trails

I just got a super nice 01 kx250 with new topend and full Pro Circuit pipe. My only intended use is for trail riding.....

My question is, are these reliable and good for trails?
Are there any mods to make them better for trails? Flywheel? Gearing? Pipe?

Im 6'3" and weight 190.

Thanks in advance for your inputs

Max

i got a pro circuit pipe on mine, i am 5' 7" and way 125 and that is a good "mod" to mine, it flies the flywheel is already pretty light, u could get an overbore and have it ported or somethin, a pipe is pretty popular for them. They are pretty reliable as long as u bring a few spare sparkplugs, just in case, and keep a full tank of gas, make sure that topend is all tight and everything is good, and you should be set. Pretty sweet purchase, good luck with it.

I trailride my 96 all the time. It has a full FMF exhaust and that's it. It's been completely reliable.

if your doing nothing but trails and don't plan on doing much track riding, softening up the suspension, and adding weight to the flywheel and possibly a larger tank would be my recomendation

Welcome to E2S. You can add a FWW like mentioned to help stalling in the woods and also put a 52 rear sprocket on it to help pull it all over the place in the woods. Post some pic's of your bikes.
