Ok i have tried and tried to get this dang kickstart thing off it is stuck. I think someone might have put locktight on it so it won't strip..... i was thinking of heating the part so it would expand to come off.

the gold color on the teeth is pb blaster thought it would help but didn't.

I cannot tell you why it is stuck, but try getting ahold of a smal claw puller and try that, all of mine always came off with ease, never had problems.

yeah, heat it up a bit. It should come off

Heat it up and use a claw hammer between the case and kicker.

wha wha what..... NO CLAW HAMMER AGAINST THE CASE. Bad Idea lol. How about heat it, hit it with a rubber mallet. Or try a block of wood behind it and hit the wood

The smooth rounded end won't hurt anything, I've done it before.

Use a block of wood triangular in shape, like a wedge. Hammer that between the case and the kicker after you've heated it. Then you should be guaranteed not to damage the case

Ahhh, I have been down this road so many times. Get it good and hot with an acetylene torch (propane doesn't get as hot), use a long wooden wegde (like mentioned above) and while it is hot hammer it in while tapping the kicker. Remember two things; first...do not throw any liquid on the crank while it is hot, you will temper and possibly warp it, second...the longer the wedge the better! It smells great as the crank burns the crap out of it so work quickly and possibly outside.

I would re-attach the kickstarter to it and then give it some heat and pull on the kickstarter back and forth and it should walk off.
