250r motor in a tecate?

i have a tecate 4 and want to put a honda 250r motor in it. will it bolt in or do i have to change a lot of things making it not worth my time? any one want to buy a t3 tecate motor?

T3 motor? Do you have any engine parts for a T4?

Now to answer your question, If you move the mounts, it will work. Might have to use a different chain and what not, and change the sprocket out...

Oh, FWIW, I am looking for some T4 parts... I need an intake!!! And the shift rod off the right side of the motor.

the t4 motor i got blew up and ruined the jug. i have all the parts to the t4 motor and i plan to put a 250r motor my tecate. if you are looking for parts for a t4 or want to buy a complete t3 motor please pm me. thanx for the tips. if any one has a honda 250r motor for sale let me know because i am looking to purchase one thank you.

Will the jug off the T3 not fit it? Thought about putting the T3 motor in it? If the bottom end is good on the T4, I would just buy a new jug and piston off of ebay or something. I have seen them BIN for $250 or so.

Let me ask you something... did your T4 "chatter" any when running? Or vibrate?

the exhaust port on the t3 is slanted because there is one pipe in the front of the motor where on the t4 the exhaust port is straight because there are two bars in front of it. the t4 motor i have blew up on the guy that i bought it from. when i bought the quad i figured i would buy a motor off ebay for it and stick it right in. so i bought a t3 motor before doing my homework on it and found out it wouldnt work

You're kinda in a spot... that conversion could cost you up to a grand I would say, unless you did all the fab work on the mounts yourself, and did not have to rebuild the R motor you buy... Could you get a pipe made for it? Also, what kind of pipe is on the T4 right now?

the t4 has a stock pipe on it, i can get a motor anywhere from 300 and up on ebay i think. i'd have the local welding shop weld up brackets for me. the pipe would be the hardest part to configure. not sure how much 250r carbs are going for or if i could rejet my t4 carb

Get ahold of rockhound before you do all of that. Here is one that will make you laugh though... Hell, my boy in Charlotte will sell you a WHOLE running T4 for this price... it needs ALOT of TLC, but it is a whole quad, and running...lol. Check those parts for me and let me know...
